How to get to Crown King
From Phoenix: Take I-17 North to exit 248 (Bumble Bee exit) and follow the bladed passenger car dirt road 28 miles into Crown King. An alternate route would be to take I-17 to exit 259 (Bloody Basin Road) and take it west until the road T's, turn left until the road T's again, turn right, and continue up that road to Crown King. This route is a little shorter and the road is a little nicer but it is a little more tricky to find your way. A third route is to come up from Lake Pleasant on the "Backroad" which is for serious four wheel drive enthusiasts only. TOTAL DRIVE TIME: 1.5 hours (backroad up to 6 hours)
From Prescott: Take S.R. 69 southeast to F.R.93, head south on the bladed road until the road T's, turn right and continue into Crown King. A second way would be to take the Senator Highway from Prescott all the way to Crown King, about 38 miles. This road is not suitable for most passenger cars. TOTAL DRIVE TIME: 1.0 hours
From Flagstaff: Take I-17 south to either exit 248 or exit 259 and then follow the directions from Phoenix.TOTAL DRIVE TIME: 1.7 hours
